Your guide will pick you up in Cape Town and take a leisurely drive through to Franschhoek.
Arrive at Atlas Swift Wines where you will be introduced to minimal intervention wine making and taste the most sublime, versatile and expressive wines. At times we will be accompanied by the wine maker who would expound on the personal elements relating to this phenomenal property. Amongst other treasures you will be exposed to a horizontal tasting of Chardonnays sourced from distinct Cape regions, showcasing just how expressive and versatile this single grape can be.
Continue to Black Elephant Vinters where the rule book is out of the window. Enjoy a festive pairing of wine and curated music while sipping n MCC Brut Rose or a bold Rhône-style red, all crafted with minimal intervention and a lot of personality. The vibe is playful and rebellious, with a focus on breaking down the snobbery around wine.
After these 2 tastings we will head for lunch (for your own account) at either Franks Corner or Paulina's at Rickety Bridge. There will be opportunity to explore the village a little before heading off to the next vineyard.
The final tasting will be at none other than, Anthonij Rupert Wyne, a beautifully maintained estate with mountain views and a relaxed, timeless feel. Tastings take place in a historic Cape Dutch manor house, where you can sip at your own pace in a space full of character. The wines range from elegant Méthode Cap Classique (MCC)to bold reds and old-vine Chenin Blanc, with optional pairings like local cheese or handmade nougat. It’s a laid-back yet polished way to wrap up the day, great wine, great setting, no rush.
